Greed

Julian squirmed in the bus seat, his framed eyes looking down at the torn piece of paper in his hands. The writing was messy, as befit Aleera. Her handwriting was always difficult to decipher but having known her for some time, Julian was able to get the gist of it. They were directions to one of the clubs Zachariah apparently worked at part-time. 'A club, of course...' He thought. You mix a hormonal boy with alcohol, there was bound to be trouble. He had to hurry and save his poor innocent friend, lest he lose him to the neon lights and devilish charms.

He hesitated as his stop came up. Was he really going to waltz in there and have some balls? Did he have it in him? Probably not. But the fear of being body slammed by Aleera for being a wuss was motivation enough. He dragged himself off the bus and walked the rest of the way. Soon, the floodlights outside the large red building met his eyes. The club didn't seem trashy, as he had expected it to be. So his worries softened as he passed through the heavy doors. He stood at the entrance, thinking up a plan. "I should first try to FIND Gabe...shouldn't be too hard...not too many guys in here wearing skirts and a stuffed bra..."

He walked close to the walls, receiving stares courtesy of his fellow wallflowers. He searched the bar: nothing. He searched several lounging areas: nothing. It was only obvious where his next search would end up. The thumping sound of the techno music echoed out of the DJ station, his ears focusing more on the sound now as his attention diverted. There he found his prey in the arms of another predator. Julian scowled. Pitiful. They were basically dry humping! Taking a deep breath and swallowing some fear, he walked up to the two.

"Gabe." The two raven-haired men turned, surprised to see the blonde man standing before them. Zack's eyes fell dull and his mouth curled into slight grin as his better half merely seemed surprised.
"Jules? What are you doing here?" The blonde man tried to look into those dark green eyes but his own seemed resistant. He titlted his head a bit, looking down at the worn dance floor.
"Ah...well...Aleera sent me to fetch you. It's time to come home, Gabe."
"Aleera?" Zackariah spoke, his interest obviously sparked. "Is she here too?" He peered around Julian. Julian shook his head.
"No...no, she's not. I'm sorry to end your date a bit short, Mr. Dimartino but...it's time for Gabe to come home. His sister is worried." Zachariah frowned, his expression returning to boredom.
"Is that so?" Gabe piped as he placed his hands on his hips. Julian nodded slightly, but it was obvious his words weren't believed. By the look he had, Gabe wasn't buying it. He turned to Zack. "Excuse me for a moment, will you?' And with that, he shoved Julian over into the corner.

Julian yelped as he was pulled, not expecting such force. He barely had enough time to stable himself when his ears were met with a deep growl of words.

"Why did you come here? Are you trying to embarrass me? You're just jealous, you know that, of all the attention I'm getting. And to say Aleera sent you? You really suck at lying." Julian opened his mouth, trying to defend himself. He was jealous, yes but he was not a liar. But he got no chance to rebutle. Gabriel glared at him and continued. "Look...I'm not going home yet. I'm having a great time. The night is young. You might have stuff to do in the morning but I don't so I'm not worried about it. So why don't you just go home and watch one of your fancy smancy documentaries and leave me be? If you want the details SOOOO badly, I'll call you later."
"Gabe, I'm not lying. Aleera really wants you home."
"If she did, she'd call me." Julian rolled his eyes and placed his hand on Gabe's hip. Digging his fingers inside the waistband of his skirt, he slipped the slim cellphone that called it home out. He flipped it open and showed the missed messages.
"You left it on silent again." Gabe's face flushed red, not at all looking well on his skin. He snatched back his phone and let out an annoyed sigh.
"Just go home, Julian. Please. I don't want to talk to you right now. You're pissing me off."

He didn't mean to make Gabriel mad. And that beautiful face seemed so angered, so ugly now. "Just go home. And leave me and Zack alone, alright?" Gabe pleaded once more. Julian's body was obviously shocked, causing Gabe to have a softer tone. But the anger was still there. Julian then nodded, albeit hesitantly.
"Sorry..."
"It's fine, whatever. I'll call you later. Or something."
"Of course..."

Noticing the snickering man behind them, Julian glared. Him. He was causing this. He was just so happy with himself. But his eyes landed on Gabriel again. No, he'd have to resume this thought later. "Of course..." He continued, "I'm sorry for interrupting you two..." He spoke loud enough for the other man to hear him. Zachariah shrugged.
"Whatever, french boy. If you wanted a date with me too, you should have let me known earlier. Next time, ne?" Julian forced a smile. But through his facade, he just wanted to strangle him. No, Julian. Bad Julian. He turned back to Gabriel.
"Sorry...Again..."
"It's fine...tell Al I'll be home late tonight but...I'll be home."
"Of course."

Gabriel moved in, giving the blonde man a slight hug. There was not warmth, though. It was more like an obligated notion. When he pulled away, Julian turned. He knew who he was going back to, as the footsteps trailed away. He didn't want to see it. Passing by the walls once more, Julian left that image behind. Undoubtedly, it would appear again later.
